Tackle Shop
Boroughbridge
or Boston Spa
The
most famous of all number one river match stretches. Pegs range from
fast rapids and glides to some over 5 feet deep. In recent years the
main species on this water has been the Chub and Barbel which can be
caught on either
feeder or float tactics with pleasure nets of around 60lb possible. Annual
restocking of Dace and chub have now increased match weights and allow
all day sport
even in the worst of weathers.
Fish can be caught from this stretch on the most bitter of days with the
simplest of baits. Due to large amounts of silver fish and fry there are
lots of jack and mature Pike which are well worth targeting. Occasionally
the resident bream show, these specimens
weigh in excess of 5lb and are colored darkest of blue/black.
This water is occasionally closed for club matches or outside bookings,
so check match page, year book or local press.
