A famous part of the Swale for match and pleasure anglers. Specimen
Chub and Barbel are the main quarry along with some excellent Brown Trout.
The willows are the most famous pegs on the length these can be found
both above and below Thornton Bridge. However, some of the most specialist
fishing can be found in the glides and rapids between the willows peg.
100lb hauls are easily available in the Summer, although feeder anglers
have been known to employee hook lengths up to 6 feet in length to get
bits. Avoid a disappointing day be missing out the 1st pegs either side
of the bridge, the fish here are almost tame, and hoover up bait all
around
the hook bait, but very rarely are they caught
