Aire & Calder Canal - Heck bridge to Crow Croft Bridge

Great Heck

North bank, access via lane next to railway,parking on bank between bungalow and rail bridge, fishing both ways from the car park area down towards Pollington road bridge and up towards Great Heck road bridge. No cars under the rail bridge and no fishing under or near powerlines. South Bank, limited access No cars on the bank.

Pollington Road Bridge

North bank upstream, limited access and parking, fishing towards Heck. North bank downstream No Fishing. South Bank No Fishing.

Crowcroft Bridge

South bank Upstream, access under the road bridge, fishing up to the lock. Parking is on road side which runs parallel to canal downstream of road bridge. North bank upstream, limited access via car park, about six pegs. No fishing in boat moorings. South Bank downstream, fishing down to New junction canal. Parking is on road side which runs parallel to canal downstream of road bridge. North bank downstream, back to Southfield reservoirs No fishing.

Leave the M62 at Junction 34 and follow A19 north for 1.5 miles then turn left onto A645 Weeland Road. For Great Heck turn left in to Long lane after two miles. Access is down track on left just before railway. Park on bankside after bungalow. For Pollington Road bridge carry on over railway along Heck and Pollington Lane for approx 1.25 miles then turn left into Pinfold Lane. At the end turn left in to Main Street then immediately right into Bridge lane canal is 400 yards further on.

For Crow Croft bridge carry on along Pollington Main Street ( See above) and at the end turn right into Crow Croft Lane. After 500 yd's go over canal and turn right, Crow Croft bridge is 0.5 miles further.
