After an extension of the AGM - the committee voted unanimously to a temporary closure of the forum.
To maintain sustainable risk free operation a minimum number of moderators was identified. This number would sufficiently cover absence, work and university commitments, machine failures, holidays etc. and the committee felt from recent events that the number currently undertaking the role was not sufficient.
This short fall in active moderators has recently left the club extremely vulnerable to attacks on both its reputation and its individual committee members. A problem which has grown each week.
The closure is temporary, and we do envisage the club hosting an angling forum (albeit under new management rules) - but can't currently give any dates - until we have our full complement of moderators identified and trained.
The web team are interested in anyone who may wish to assist in a moderator role, at present it is taking between 8 and 12 hours per week for each mod to manage the boards, vet messages and respond to queries. It takes some dedication - we would be very interested in meeting anyone who has any interests in undertaking such a role.
For this and any other communication with the club -
please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org
The rest of the site will remain in it's original operating status.
